Who We Are
AAA Computer Help is a small Canadian company in Victoria, British Columbia that was started by two retired high school teachers. We offer in-home computer help and support, on both PC and Macintosh platforms, to individuals throughout the Greater Victoria region. In addition, if you need a website, we can take you through the entire process including registering a domain name, creating the website, and maintaining the site for you on an ongoing basis.
Carl Cohen taught Computer Science, Information Technology, and Media Arts for 25 years in high schools in the Victoria area. In addition, he organized dozens of workshops and courses for teachers, including Introduction to Computers, Desktop Publishing, Web Design, Using the Internet, and many others. He understands the different learning styles that individuals have and specializes in coaching each learner according to his/her needs. Carl has over 10 years experience creating and maintaining websites for himself and his clients. Carl works exclusively with PC's running the Windows system.
Tom White was a music teacher for over 30 years and developed Computer Music courses at the high school level. His specialty is the Apple Macintosh system and he has a wealth of knowledge and experience with this platform. Tom has helped hundreds of adults and kids with their computer needs over the years and he can help you with just about anything related to the Mac.
What We Do
Buying a computer is easy. Figuring out how to work the darn thing can be daunting, especially for those of us who did not grow up in a world that included technology and the internet. Our mission is to make using your computer an enjoyable experience. Being school teachers, we are very experienced at tailoring the lessons to your personal needs and learning style. We can help you with any or all of the following:
- Purchasing a computer
- Setting up your computer, printer, and other peripherals
- Turning on your computer
- Using the mouse effectively
- Using built-in help functions
- Turning off your computer properly
- Playing music CD's
- Seaching the internet effectively
- Sending and receiving email
- Writing with a word processor
- Using your scanner, printer, or digital camera
- Organizing your photographs
- Using your CD burner
- Protecting your computer against computer viruses
- Registering a domain name
- Setting up and maintaining a website
- Anything else related to your computer
We usually work on a one-to-one basis, but we are also willing to work with groups. Rates vary depending on the situation, so check out our Rates page for more details.
